What can I expect from a “one of a kind” piece?
Our goal at Mae is to create artful home goods that bring design and color to any living space and we thrive on making each piece unique. It’s great to find just the right pillow or runner and know it is a one of a kind but purchasing a distinctive piece online can be tricky. We offer our pillows, placemats, table runners, napkins, coasters and planters in a variety of “colorways” with the understanding that each piece within their category has its own flavor. We are happy to work with you to find what you need but please understand that we cannot precisely match colors with the dye techniques we employ. We are happy to provide a photo of a piece prior to shipping.
How do I care for my Mae home decor item?
All Mae products go through multiple rinses and are machine washed so dye transfer should be minimal to none. While all Mae products are washable, we suggest the following care instructions to ensure your hand-dyed fabric will brighten your home for years to come:
Pillow covers (remove insert first), Placemats, Coasters, Planters
These items are all 100% cotton and should be hand washed in cold water with like colors, laid flat to dry and ironed using a warm iron.
Table Runners and Napkins
These items are 55% linen and 45% cotton and should be hand washed in cold water with like colors, hung to dry and ironed using a warm iron. Spot cleaning can be done with a soft sponge and gentle fabric detergent (like Woolite).
Can I make a special order?
We are happy to hear from you about a special order but due to the serendipity of the dying process and the dye formulas it is very difficult to match colors or replicate exact designs. As the product line grows, we will offer an expanded range of color choices and would love to work with you on a case-by-case basis.
Are Mae items appropriate for outdoor use?
While we love a good outdoor soiree or leisurely Sunday picnic, Mae goods are not intended for extended outdoor use. They are best kept indoors and out of long term direct sunlight.
